Cedar Rapids man arrested for attempting to choke a woman at a bus stop
A Cedar Rapids man has been arrested for assault with injury after allegedly choking a woman at a bus stop outside Hy-Vee on First Avenue NE Sunday.
Raashawn Langford, 41, is accused of assaulting a 55-year-old woman who was sitting at the bus stop around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said Langford and the woman had met Friday at a temporary employment site. He approached her Sunday and made derogatory remarks, Police said. When the woman asked Langford to leave her alone, he attempted to choke her, police said.
When police arrived on the scene, Langford was being held down by bystanders.
