Cedar Rapids man accused of trying to cash forged check

CEDAR RAPIDS - A Cedar Rapids man faces a charge of forgery after he allegedly attempted to cash a forged check for $1,200.
According to the criminal complaint, Michael L. Conn, 41, 'altered the writing” on a check from an account belonging to Shuttle Service Express that he then attempted to cash Dec. 26 at Ohnward Bank, 1211 Edgewood Rd. SW.
The complaint states Conn was caught on surveillance footage trying to cash the check, and when questioned he allegedly admitted to the offense.
