Cedar Rapids barber shop fire intentionally set, officials say

The Cedar Rapids Fire Department believes a fire discovered in a barber shop last week was intentionally set.

Ave. SW, at 8:58 a.m. last Friday after an employee opened the door the business and smelled smoke, according to fire department spokesman Greg Buelow. Buelow said crews discovered the remnants of a fire that was likely extinguished before the employee arrived.
The fire caused heavy smoke damage throughout the barber shop, Buelow said.
Buelow said investigators believe the fire was intentionally set.
