CEDAR RAPIDS — A man who sexually abused three children and distributed child sexual abuse images was sentenced last week to more than 38 years in federal prison.
Austin Kingsbury, 24, of Tripoli, pleaded guilty in June to one count each of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
Evidence at sentencing showed Kingsbury sexually abused three children over many years. He took photos of the sexual abuse and then distributed those and others to multiple people in May 2023. He also received and downloaded child pornography between August 2022 and June 2023.
U.S. District Chief Judge, during sentencing, also ordered Kingsbury to pay $18,000 in victim restitution and serve five years of supervised release following his prison term.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. attorneys Devra Hake and Dillan Edwards. It was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security, Tripoli and Cedar Rapids Police Department, Bremer County Sheriff’s Office, Anchorage, Alaska Police Department and Alaska State Troopers Technical Crimes Unit.
