Authorities are investigating a string of burglaries in Black Hawk County.
Burglary reports were taken Thursday at three different businesses in Hudson near Beech Nut Golf Course, three in Cedar Falls on Big Woods Road and one on Sycamore Street in Waterloo. Officials said someone forced their way inside each business Wednesday night, and in each case, cash was taken.
Cedar Falls Police Department Lt. Dennis O'Neill said the businesses that were burglarized were fairly smaller businesses.
“I got the impression they probably went to places they knew wouldn't have alarm systems,” O'Neill said.
Burglary reports were taken at the following businesses: Z&Z Auto, 111 Dale Drive, Hudson; Larry's Auto, 516 Fifth St., Hudson; Schadle Insurance, 425 Sixth St., Hudson; Maynard Auto Repair, 5503 Big Woods Road, Cedar Falls; Fager Framing, 3123 Big Woods Road, Cedar Falls; B&K Lawn Care, 3132 Big Woods Road, Cedar Falls; and Auto Pro, 1671 Sycamore St., Waterloo.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Cedar Falls Police Department, Waterloo Police Department or the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office. Callers also can contact Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers at (855) 300-8477.
