A 15-year-old has been charged with multiple traffic violations after Johnson County deputies say the teen led them on a high-speed chase ending in a crash last week.
On Nov. 7, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle driving 92 mph in a 55 mph zone near F.W. Kent Park, which is west of Tiffin. The driver fled for about 7 miles before crashing near the intersection of Swan Lake Road NW and Half Moon Avenue NW, a Sheriff’s Office news release states.
“The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was 15 years old and sustained minor injuries” the news release states.
The driver, whose name was not disclosed, has been charged with felony eluding, unsafe passing, violation of intermediate graduated driver’s license, failure to maintain control of a vehicle and two counts each of speeding and failure to obey traffic control device.
