Three Minnesota men were arrested early Sunday after authorities said they stole University of Iowa baseball equipment and trespassed in football’s Kinnick Stadium.
The three 19-year-old men — Carter Oney of Becker and Kaysen Platz and Jeffery Wanhala of Big Lake — entered Iowa’s Jacobson Athletic Building while it was closed to the public and stole $2,000 worth of baseball equipment, according to UI police.
Police say the three men were located while trespassing at Kinnick.
The incident happened at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, according to a criminal complaint. They face charges of second-degree theft and third-degree burglary.
A UI police spokeswoman said the stolen equipment was recovered, but said no other information would be released.
