A Marion man faces three charges of first-degree murder and an attempted murder charge after Linn County authorities Wednesday afternoon found three adults dead and another adult severely wounded in an outbuilding north of Robins.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office was called just before 4 p.m. to an outbuilding behind a house at 3699 East Otter Rd. There, responders found four people who were badly wounded. Three died on the scene and one was airlifted to a hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries. They were identified Thursday morning:
- Romondus Lamar Cooper, 44, of Cedar Rapids
- Keonna Victoria Ryan, 26, of Cedar Rapids
- Amanda Sue Parker, 33, of Vinton
The injured person was identified as Brent Anthony Brown, 34, of Marion.
“We do not believe the public to be at risk,” Linn County Sheriff Brian Gardner said Wednesday evening. “The investigators remain on the scene, processing the scene. … We’ll probably be on scene most of the night.”
The Sheriff’s Office late Wednesday said that Luke Wade Truesdell, 34, was arrested on a charge of attempted murder in connection with the case and that other charges were pending.
The three bodies will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for autopsies, Gardner said.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Iowa State Patrol, the Robins Police Department, the Hiawatha Fire and Ambulance, Center Point Ambulance and the Alburnett Fire Department.
