17-year-old accused of sexually assaulting 14-year-old on Jefferson High campus

CEDAR RAPIDS - A 17-year-old male was charged Wednesday for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl this week near the tennis courts at Jefferson High School, according to a criminal complaint.
Chase-Jeffery A. Edwards-Moon, of Cedar Rapids, is charged with third-degree sexual abuse. He is accused of forcing a 14-year-old girl to perform a sex act Tuesday near the tennis courts, according to the complaint. Construction workers observed the incident and reported it school administration.
A school administrator then found Edwards-Moon and the girl in the area and directed Edwards-Moon off campus, according to the complaint. The girl was later interviewed and told police about the sexual assault.
