13-year-old Monticello boy in Linn County OHV rollover crash taken by helicopter to UIHC with life-threatening injuries

A 13-year-old boy driving an off-highway vehicle Saturday in northeast Linn County was transported by helicopter to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City after suffering serious injuries in a rollover crash.
According to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, 13-year-old Aidan Phelps of Monticello was driving an OHV that rolled at about 8 p.m. Saturday while he was traveling south on Edwards Road, south of McNamara Road in Linn County. A 13-year-old passenger, Baylor Holub of Anamosa, was uninjured, but Aidan was flown to UIHC by LifeGuard Air Ambulance with life-threatening injuries.
The news release also stated that neither occupant was wearing a seat belt or a helmet at the time of the crash and that the accident remains under investigation by the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
Other responding agencies in addition to the Linn County Sheriff's Office and LifeGuard Air Ambulance included the Jones County Sheriff's Office, Prairieburg Fire Department, Central City Fire Department and Anamosa Area Ambulance
