1 hurt in Cedar Rapids shooting

CEDAR RAPIDS — Police received reports Monday afternoon of gunfire in northeast Cedar Rapids and responding officers found a juvenile with minor injuries.
Police were called a 3:49 p.m. to the 3100 block of C Ave. NE. The boy, whose age was not provided, suffered what a public safety news release said were non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Officers found “evidence of gunfire in the area,” the news release stated, and were investigating. Police asked anyone with information that would help in the investigation — or who has video of the area — to call police at (319) 286-5491.
