Rider seriously hurt in Edgewood Road motorcycle crash
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A crash near the interchange between Edgewood Road and Highway 30 sent one to the hospital and slowed traffic through the area for several hours on Sunday.
Emergency crews responded around 6:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a crash between a motorcycle and an SUV about a half mile south of the highway on Edgewood Road.
Police officers on the scene said the rider of the motorcycle suffered a serious head injury and was taken to the hospital. No one in the SUV was hurt.
Firefighters remained on the scene hosing down the road more than two hours after the crash.
Cedar Rapids police said it was too early to know if any charges would be filed.
