A crash between a motorcyclist and another driver has caused a traffic buildup Monday afternoon in southwest Cedar Rapids.

The Cedar Rapids man who was killed Tuesday evening when his motorcycle was struck by a car that was trying to pass in a no-passing zone is being remembered as someone who was “always kind” and “never took things seriously.”

The Cedar Rapids man was airlifted for treatment after a single vehicle rollover into a ditch off of Ely Road, south of Ely.

The crash, which happened in the area near Casey’s General Store in Fairfax Friday night., killed a Cedar Rapids man.

The pedestrian was struck on Williams Boulevard, near the Casey’s General Store in Fairfax. The male died at the scene of the crash.
