One person killed in Iowa County crash

One person was killed and two others were injured Monday in a crash east of Marengo, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

A 2009 Ford Fusion was heading north on N Avenue around 8:15 a.m. Monday. The car stopped at the intersection of N Avenue and Highway 6, but then pulled onto Highway 6 in front of a semi-trailer truck that was heading east. The semi hit the Ford on the driver’s side of the car, according to the patrol’s crash report.

The identities of the people killed and injured, as well as the drivers of the vehicles, have not yet been released, pending the notification of family members.

One of the people who was injured was taken by ambulance to the Marengo Memorial Hospital, and the other was taken by ambulance to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, the patrol said.
