One dead in Iowa City accident

A 22-year-old Waterloo woman was killed in a crash on Iowa City’s east side after her car was hit by two vehicles driven by 17-year-old drivers.

The crash happened just before 11 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Court Street and Seventh Avenue on the east side of Iowa City.

A car, driven by Kesean Ford, 17, and an SUV driven by Elijah Seals, 17, were both westbound on Court Street when both drivers failed to stop at the intersection of Seventh Avenue. They hit Jennifer Russell, who was in the intersection, according to a news release by the Iowa State Patrol, which investigated the crash.

Russell was transported to University Hospitals, where she died.

Both Ford and Seals were injured, as was Michel Mbokolo, also 17.
