The NTSB confirmed it is investigating a crash of a T-28B aircraft near Monticello Monday. The pilot, who has not been identified, was killed in the crash.
The plane, with tail number N28XT, is registered to East Iowa Air Inc. out of Bennett in Cedar County, FAA records show.
The airplane had been originating short flights from the Monticello airport in recent weeks, online flight records show.
The T-28B aircraft was a military trainer aircraft used by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force beginning in the 1950s.
