Motorcyclist killed in crash on 1st Avenue in Cedar Rapids
The motorcycle collided with a car that was making a left turn onto 27th Street NE

CEDAR RAPIDS — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Friday night in Cedar Rapids.
Preliminary findings of an investigation into the crash indicate the motorcycle was traveling south on First Avenue, when it struck a northbound car that was making a left turn from First Avenue onto 27th Street NE, according to a news release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
The motorcycle driver was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later, the release states.
The crash happened at about 8:47 p.m. Cedar Rapids police, fire and Area Ambulance responded to the scene.
The name of the motorcycle driver has not yet been released. The crash still is under investigation.
