Man dead after crash with deer in Allamakee County

A Salem, Wisconsin man died Saturday after crashing into a deer in rural Allamakee County, according to a crash report from the Iowa State Patrol.
Daniel Fisher, 64, was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Highway 76 just south of the Upper Iowa River at about 8:45 a.m. Saturday. He hit a deer in the roadway and lost control of the motorcycle, the crash report states.
Fisher and was thrown from the bike, which came to rest in the ditch beside the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the crash report.
The state patrol was assisted in their response to the crash by the Veteran’s Memorial Hospital Ambulance, the Waukon Fire Department, the Allamakee County Medical Examiner, the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office and Danny Mac’s Towing.
