Man airlifted with life-threatening injuries after Linn County crash

CEDAR RAPIDS — A Linn County man was transported by Lifeguard Air Ambulance to University of Iowa Health Care with life-threatening injuries Saturday after a single-vehicle crash on Springville Road, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
Albert Stuppi, 61, of rural Springville, was driving a Nissan Pathfinder on Springville Road south of Bolton Manor Road when he crashed just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a sheriff’s news release.
The release didn’t say what led to the crash, but stated that the vehicle was found upside down in the west ditch of the road and that Stuppi was not wearing a seat belt.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Marion Police Department, Mount Vernon Lisbon Police Department, Iowa State Patrol, Springville Fire Department, Anamosa Ambulance and Lifeguard Air Ambulance all responded to the crash.
The crash is being investigated by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, the release states.
