Jesup woman killed in crash in Independence Walmart parking lot
Driver was 14-year-old with a valid learners permit

A Jesup woman died Tuesday after a crash in a Walmart parking lot in Independence, according to a news release from the Independence Police Department.
Leann Dumire, 27, was hit by a car and forced into the side of the Walmart, at 302 Enterprise Dr., at about 4 p.m. Tuesday. Police were called to the scene and provided emergency care until an ambulance arrived.
Dumire was taken to Buchanan County Health Center where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the car was a 14-year-old boy, who was driving with an adult family member. The boy had a valid learners permit and the adult was a licensed driver, according to the release.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing, the release states.
