The Iowa State Patrol is asking for the public’s help with an investigation into a crash that killed a pedestrian who was walking on Interstate 80 east of Grinnell, according to a social media post from the state patrol.
The crash happened Tuesday at around 5:15 a.m., according to a report from the state patrol. Nicholas Quintero, 36, of Toledo, Ohio, was walking on I-80 near mile marker 202, and was hit and killed by an “unknown vehicle that may not have known they struck a pedestrian,” the report states.
The social media post states that multiple people called 911 to report someone was walking on the interstate, and when law enforcement officers arrived on scene, they discovered Quintero already dead.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information that could help with the investigation is asked to call the state patrol at 319-396-4414.
