Iowa State Patrol investigating Tuesday fatality in rural Anamosa
Names of drivers haven’t been released pending notifications

Iowa State Patrol is investigating a head-on crash in Jones County on Tuesday that killed one person and injured another, according to a report.
A 2004 Toyota Corolla traveling on Iowa Highway 64 and 140 Avenue in rural Anamosa crossed the highway into oncoming traffic and struck a Jeep Cherokee nearly head-on about 5:20 p.m. Tuesday.
The name of the Corolla driver, who was killed, and the Jeep driver, who was injured, haven’t been released by authorities pending notification.
The person killed was airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. and the other driver was taken to UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s Hospital by ambulance.
According to the report, the Corolla after the impact came to rest in the center of the roadway and the Jeep ended up in the north ditch area.
The State Patrol was assisted by Jones County Sheriff’s Office, Lifeguard Air Ambulance, Anamosa Ambulance and Fire and Olin Fire departments.
