Interstate 80 crash in Cedar County kills truck driver Sunday
A truck driver on Interstate 80 in Cedar County was killed Sunday in a single-vehicle crash, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
At 5:27 p.m. Sunday, a Freightliner Cascadia was traveling eastbound on I-80 near mile marker 259 in Cedar County when it left the roadway for an unknown reason. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle rolled, causing the driver to be ejected from the cab.
The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt according to a crash report, died at the scene.
Authorities have not yet identified the driver pending notification of relatives.
