A 62-year-old Edgewood man was killed Monday night and three others injured, when a southbound pickup truck hit two parked UTVs.
The crash happened around 5:11 p.m. on Glacier Road, about a mile south of Faucet Road in Clayton County.
Investigators determined Perry Peterson, 56, of Manchester, was southbound on Glacier Road when he hit Ricky Thurn, 62, of Edgewood, who was standing at the driver’s door of two parked UTVs, the Iowa State Patrol said in a preliminary crash report.
James Bunting, 69, and Lori Bunting, 63, both of Edgewood, who were in one of the UTVs, also were injured. They were taken to MercyOne—Elkader by ambulance.
Peterson was taken via air ambulance to University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City.
The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
