Marshalltown man killed in Linn County crash on Highway 30
A Marshalltown man was killed Tuesday evening in a single-vehicle crash near Palisades-Kepler State Park near Mount Vernon.
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that Ted Sorem, 57, was driving east when he lost control of his vehicle and went into the south ditch and struck a tree along Highway 30 near Kepler Drive.
Sorem, the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt, according to the news release.
