CEDAR RAPIDS — Families Helping Families of Iowa is seeking volunteers to help deliver and plant trees sold during their recent tree sale fundraiser.
Families Helping Families sold trees this spring as a fundraiser for the local nonprofit and to help restore part of the tree canopy lost in last summer’s derecho. The fundraiser has been very successful and, as it’s wrapping up, FHF is making plans to get the trees delivered and planted.
“We have over 170 trees to deliver the weekend of April 24 and we need a lot of help to make it happen,” said Melissa Carlson, Executive Director.
The organization needs people with trucks and trailers to help deliver trees and others who can go behind the delivery teams to dig holes and plant the trees.
