UnityPoint Hospice offering Embracing Memories kit for children and teens

CEDAR RAPIDS — UnityPoint Hospice is inviting the community to pick up a Camp Embracing Memories winter camp kit, which may be used when it's most convenient. The kit provided is designed to add to a toolbox of coping skills that are helpful throughout life, but particularly as individuals work through the grief process.
Supplies include everything needed for the child/teen and family to engage in the activities. There is a teen camp kit for those 13 and older; and a child camp kit for those 12 and younger
Some activities include memory ornaments, worry jars, family memory books, bubble drawing, mindfulness activities and rock painting. Adults are encouraged to do these activities with their children/teens. Conversation starters also are included.
To sign up to receive a kit, please call (319) 369-7744 or email jamie.siela@unitypoint.org. Kit pickup time 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Dec. 13-17 at UnityPoint Hospice, 290 Blairs Ferry Rd., Suite 100, Cedar Rapids.
UnityPoint Hospice Bereavement Services is for children and the families that support them. This program is free for children and their families thanks to a partnership with Cedar Memorial.
