United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties hosting panel on COVID-19 and Delta variant at 1 p.m. Thursday
Panel will be livestreamed via Zoom, guests may register and submit questions ahead of time

JOHNSON AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES — On Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties (UWJWC) invites you to join a panel discussion to receive a COVID-19 update, including information on the Delta variant, vaccination, and masking.
United Way is continuing its commitment to provide clear information to our community on the pandemic. In partnership with Johnson County, the University of Iowa, and Mercy Iowa City, United Way will be conducting a virtual discussion to answer submitted questions as well as present up-to-date facts centering around the pandemic.
“Over a year into the pandemic, there still is a lot we are learning about COVID-19, the available vaccinations, new variants, and masking,” said Katie Knight, President & CEO of United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties. “This opportunity to be updated on the pandemic by our local experts is vital to our community.”
United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties will livestream the panel discussion via Zoom hosted by Barb Thomas, Executive Director of Communication, Alumni and External Relations, UI Tippie College of Business. Panelists joining the discussion will include Samuel Jarvis, Community Health Division Manager at Johnson County Public Health, Dr. Stephen Scheckel, MD, VP Medical Affairs, CMO, Mercy Iowa City, and Dr. Daniel Diekema, MD MS, Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine-Infectious Diseases, University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
