Together We Achieve’s next food box giveaway is Sunday

CEDAR RAPIDS — Together We Achieve’s next drive through food box giveaway event is scheduled for Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hawkeye Downs, 4400 Sixth St. SW. This is a first-come, first-served event and no registration is required. Because of ongoing pandemic precautions, please be prepared to wait in your cars patiently and maintain physical distance. Calling for Volunteers

Volunteers are needed for food box assembly, which is taking place now through Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and food box packing on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. At the Sunday distribution event, volunteers are needed from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for loading boxes into vehicles, cleanup/hauling and traffic control.
