Together We Achieve’s next food box giveaway is Sunday

CEDAR RAPIDS — Together We Achieve’s next drive through food box giveaway event is scheduled for Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jefferson High School, 1243 20th St. SW. Please enter off of 18th Street. This is a first-come, first-served event and no registration is required. Because of ongoing pandemic precautions, please be prepared to wait in your cars patiently and maintain physical distance.

Together We Achieve has had the opportunity to distribute 10,426 boxes to the community year-to-date, well on the organization’s way to hitting its goal of 12,000 meals by the end of the year as part of its 12k in 2021 program.

Calling for Volunteers

Volunteers are needed for food box assembly, which is taking place from 4:40 to 6:30 p.m. each night through Friday. On Saturday, volunteers also are needed for food box packaging. At the Sunday distribution event, volunteers are needed for loading boxes into vehicles, cleanup/hauling and traffic control.
