Exhibit, opening ceremonies focus on Eastern Iowa’s vital rail history.

The Shellsburg Area Community Group started it’s fundraiser to restore the iconic Gold Medal Flour mural in the downtown business district.

The exhibition uses photographs, engaging interactives, videos and augmented reality to explore the unique combination of places, people and circumstances that sparks innovation and reveals why it flourishes in some rural places but not others.

Dr. Vincent Reid credits much of who he is today to a small lab in New York City, where he and other minorities were able to thrive through a rare oasis in a scientific world largely not built for them.

Despite inflation, labor cost and supply chain snags that stalled the original timeline, a new Steindler North Liberty Ambulatory Surgery Center now is under construction just east of Interstate 380, north of Forevergreen Road – adding to the health care construction boom underway in that community.

Kiley Miller has resigned from his role as president and chief executive officer of nonprofit Marion-based Trees Forever after more than two years in the role.

The Marion-based not-for-profit announced it will kickoff the sixth season of its native tree sale, on Aug. 7, with multiple sizes now available. The program enables landowners with more than three woodland acres to purchase anywhere from five to 150 native trees, in an effort to restore Linn County’s native tree canopy.
