Nominate a local hero for Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival

CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival is looking for local heroes. The Freedom Festival announces the return of the annual Tribute to Heroes Dinner, returning to The Hotel at Kirkwood Center on June 17. A big part of this dinner/fundraiser is honoring those in the community who have made a difference. Nominations for 2022 Heroes are being accepted through April 1.

If you would like to nominate someone who has made positive contributions to our community, head to www.freedomfestival.com/heroes-nominations/ to fill out a nomination form. Hero nominees may be a friend or family member, a neighbor, a co-worker — anyone who has had an impact upon you or someone else.

Three Heroes will be selected from all nominations. This year’s honorees will be notified via phone by the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival staff. They will be honored guests and will receive recognition and an award at the June 17 Tribute to Heroes event. Additionally, the honorees will act as grand marshals for the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival Parade on Saturday, June 25.

Nomination forms must be completed online or returned to the Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival, 609 First Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405, no later than April 1.

Tickets for the Tribute to Heroes Dinner are now on sale. A table of 10 is $500, or individual tickets are $55. Table sponsorships also are available by contacting karol@freedomfestival.com.
