CEDAR RAPIDS — The playground at Redmond Park in southeast Cedar Rapids is scheduled to be removed and replaced between now and Nov. 19. This high-use playground is more than 20 years old and replacement is necessary to maintain compliance with current safety standards and to include inclusive/accessible activities.
The new play structure will have two bay swings with a parent/child seat, child seat and strap seats, and also will have a net climber, seesaw, and a spring rider.
Children make a dash for treat-filled Easter eggs during an Easter Egg Hunt in Redmond Park in southeast Cedar Rapids on April 3. Redmond Park will be getting a new playground, with removal and replacement to take place from now until Nov. 19. (Jim Slosiarek/The Gazette)
