CEDAR RAPIDS - The newest local road race has a name - the Trashmore 5K, the Dash to Bash Epilepsy.
The race will start at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, in front of the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library in Czech Village. From there, runners and walkers will travel along the Cedar River to the base of the Mount Trashmore landfill and make the 208-foot climb to the landfill's peak. Then it's back down. The race finishes where it started.
Race proceeds will support educational outreach for the Iowa Epilepsy Foundation and the Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy research at the University of Iowa.

The event is sponsored by the Iowa Epilepsy Foundation and the Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency.
