NAMI Linn County launches Wall of Gratitude today
Apr. 5, 2022 6:00 am
CEDAR RAPIDS — Today at 11 a.m., the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Linn County, in partnership with Coe College, will launch a Wall of Gratitude at Coe College’s Gage Memorial Union, outside of the cafeteria. The Wall at Coe College will be on display today through April 19 for sharing thoughts of positivity and gratitude. Please join by visiting the Wall of Gratitude, posting personal notes of thankfulness, taking selfies, and sharing on social media using the following hashtags of #NAMIWallofGratitude, #NAMILC, #mentalhealth and #NAMI.
As Linn County residents recover from the pandemic, it is important to reflect on emotional health. Join community members by posting hopeful messages on the Wall at Coe College or other locations in the Cedar Rapids corridor. Additional Walls will be displayed for public comments at the University of Iowa Active Minds Club on April 14, the Mental Health Summit at Kirkwood Hotel on May 26, and the Abbe Center for Community Mental Health during May.
During April and May, the Walls of Gratitude will be displayed as a community wide initiative. Their purpose is to create visual displays of thankfulness and reminders of resiliency. Join this collective mental health movement — take a moment to be thankful and make it OK for each other.
