Aug. 16, 2021 8:00 am
Have you ever wondered what life was like in Iowa hundreds of millions of years ago? What kind of plants and animals lived here? Fossils give us a snapshot into the past, but what exactly is a fossil?
Learn all about Iowa’s fossils on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Central Park Nature Center in Jones County. Visit with AmeriCorps Naturalist Intern Diana Reuber, view informational displays on Iowa’s common fossils, and try your luck at fossil identification.
For more information, please contact Diana Reuber at dreuber@dbq.edu or visit https://www.jonescountyiowa.gov/conservation/
