Joyful Noises concert to benefit Family Promise of Linn County
Mar. 23, 2022 6:00 am
CEDAR RAPIDS — On Saturday, Family Promise of Linn County (FPLC) will host the Joyful Noises event at the Olympic South Side Theater, 1202 Third St. SE #200. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7 p.m. Early bird tickets are available online for $20, or tickets can also be purchased at the door for $25. In addition to the performances from local talented artists, the fundraiser also will include a silent auction which already is open to the public online. All money raised will support families in the FPLC shelter, transitional housing, and prevention programs for families facing homelessness.
Attendees will enjoy a spoken word performance from Diamond Roundtree, as well as a wide variety of musical talent featuring Blue Rapids, Metro Mix, Deep Dish Divas, Red Cedar Chamber Music, Lisa Moy, and Craig Erickson.
“It’s important to imagine ourselves in the shoes of others suffering,” Erickson said. “My recent song, ‘Heal the Hurt’ focuses on helping others, and I’m grateful to be doing just that by playing music to support FPLC, the community, and families in need.”
Joyful Noises is open to the public and the community is invited to attend and help support the FPLC vision of a community where every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.
“We are excited to return back in person for Joyful Noises after holding the event virtually in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Nic Hartmann, Executive Director at FPLC. “It’s an incredible opportunity to be surrounded by community members who come together and are united in our efforts to help local families overcome homelessness and achieve sustainability.”
