Jones County Central Park Nature Center offering Wednesday activities, holiday open house in December

JONES COUNTY — Mark your calendars for the Central Park Nature Center December early out open house and holiday events on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 4 p.m. during the month of December.

There is a different theme for each day:

• Dec. 1: Gifts for the Birds

• Dec. 8: Tree Treasure Ornaments

• Dec. 15: Crafty Pinecone Creations

• Dec. 22: Pet Rock Fun

• Dec. 29: Winter Vacation Fun

Also, Saturday, Dec. 18, is the Holiday Season Open House at the nature center.

Along with the themed activities, you can explore the center’s latest exhibit additions. Watch the center’s live animals being fed or make a craft of the day and sit a spell while creating an entry for center’s winter coloring contest. There also will be holiday treats and hot chocolate available at the events, courtesy of the Friends of Jones County Conservation and Nature Center.
