Johnson County Mental Health/Disability Services to accept grant applications from area nonprofits

JOHNSON COUNTY — Johnson County Mental Health/Disability Services (MHDS) is accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations. The purpose of this funding is to assist eligible nonprofit organizations in one-time needs related to provision of services to individuals — adults and children — with mental health/brain health, intellectual disability or development disability diagnoses. Funding will support programming that has the potential for long-term impact, innovative new programming, capacity building, sustaining of existing services, and the purchase of essential equipment or supplies.
The fund balance of $287,000 may be awarded to eligible nonprofit organizations providing services to Johnson County residents with an agency office located in Johnson County. Grants will cover the period beginning on or around Feb. 1, 2022. All expenses must be concluded by May 31, 2022.
The grant application is located at the Johnson County website, www.johnsoncountyiowa.gov, under Bids, Proposals, and RFPs.
