Iowa City’s FilmScene to reopen May 28 for live movie screenings

FilmScene at the Chauncey, 404 E. College St., Suite 100, is reopening Friday, May 28. Public screenings will be held in Theater 1 and Theater 2, at 42 percent of capacity to ensure distanced seating between groups. Theater 3 will be open for FilmScene Private Cinema, rentals of new releases and classic films.
Opening week films include “Dream Horse” and “A Quiet Place Part II,” the sequel to the hit movie created by Iowa natives Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Tickets are available now for FilmScene members and beginning at 10 a.m. Friday for the general public. FilmScene at the Ped Mall will host a summer animation camp, then reopen in the fall, with comfort and presentation upgrades.
