CORALVILLE — The Iowa Children’s Museum is sending fun home this holiday season by donating 45 Play Pack activity kits to 4C’s of Johnson County, Open Heartland, Ronald McDonald House and Shelter House. Each Play Pack contains instructions and materials for four playful learning activities that encourage children to explore topics like engineering, astronomy, and storytelling.
“Play Packs are handmade by our museum educators, so they provide hours of imaginative fun,” said Jeff Capps, executive director of The Iowa Children’s Museum. “We’re excited to give the gift of play to even more children this holiday season.”
This donation was made possible from support from the literacy fund at the Community Foundation of Johnson County. The ICM team initially created Play Packs in August 2020 to provide kids with playful learning opportunities at home. Special funding support has been provided throughout the project period by the GEICO Foundation.
For a limited time, Play Packs are still available for purchase in the museum gift shop and online. All proceeds support the mission of The Iowa Children’s Museum to inspire every child to imagine, create, discover and explore through the Power of Play! Visit theicm.org/playpacks to learn more.
