Hy-Vee to host charity event with Bachelor Chris Soules

CEDAR RAPIDS - Chris Soules is coming to Cedar Rapids.

Hy-Vee will sponsor the charity event 'Cocktails with Chris and ‘The Other Bachelors of Arlington'” Feb. 12 at the Cedar Rapids Marriott Hotel Ballroom. The event will feature auctions, complimentary hors d'deuvres and beverages for purchase.

All event proceeds will be donated to the building of a new community center in downtown Arlington. The million-dollar project is already underway after 12 Arlington bachelors published a 2015 calendar as a fundraising effort with the leadership of Arlington natives John Fedeler and Summer Handel.

'We are very excited to be working with Hy-Vee and cannot wait to have ‘The Bachelor - Chris Soules' and some of ‘The Other Bachelors' together at a public event for the first time since the release of the calendar,” said Handel in a news release. 'We're looking forward to drawing a great crowd and raising additional funds for Arlington's new community center.”

Attendees can participate in a live auction where they can win a date with a bachelor, bid in a silent auction and listen to live music by Beau Timmerman. Throughout the event they can purchase bachelor calendars, collect autographs and mingle and take photos with the Arlington bachelors. KCRG-TV9's Nicole Agee will emcee the evening.
