Topics include defining caregiving and who has a role in it; services for caregivers and their loved ones available in Johnson County; an overview of the Caregiver Support Program at Heritage AAA; and caregiving needs in the community.
Heritage AAA is requesting people to RSVP by Thursday to receive premeeting materials and a gift from the agency. RSVPS may be made by calling (319) 398-5559 or 1-(800) 332-5934; or emailing Heritage.Agency@kirkwood.edu.
Caregiving comes in so many shapes and sizes that, in many situations, some people might not even realize they’re a caregiver. Caregivers bring in the mail, drop off food or meals, stop by for a safety check, respond to medical events and falls, coordinate professional services, help with daily activities like eating or bathing, manage medications, and more.
This Zoom webinar is the first of a two-part series on caregiving in Johnson County. The second event, which includes a free luncheon, is scheduled for this spring, with details to be announced.
