Hop into fun with Easter egg hunts and opportunities to spot the Easter bunny across Eastern Iowa.
From kid-centric to adult-only, there are activities for free and for a fee for people of all ages to celebrate ahead of Easter Sunday, March 31.
Cedar Rapids
- Festivities kickoff Saturday, March 23, with Easter activities and the chance to take a photograph with the Easter bunny himself from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, 275 10th St. SE, Cedar Rapids. This is a great free opportunity for kids 10 and under to enjoy some Easter holiday fun.
- Saturday afternoon, the Easter bunny will hop over to Ushers Ferry for pictures, story time and an Easter Egg Hunt. Egg hunts will be held at 2 p.m. for children 3-years-old and younger; 2:15 p.m. for 4- to 5-year-olds; and 2:30 p.m. for 6- to 8-year-olds. Advanced registration is required and tickets cost $7. - An indoor Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt is being held by Christ Episcopal Church from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at 220 40th St. NE, Cedar Rapids. For children who don’t like the dark, there will be another indoor option, and an adult “golden” egg hunt in the library. The event is free.
- On Saturday, March 30, St. Marks United Methodist Church, 4700 Johnson Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, is hosting its annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. to noon. There also will be story time and games. The event is free.
- Collins Community Credit Union on First Avenue and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church are sponsoring an outdoor Easter Egg Hunt at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, at Redmond Park, 1545 Third Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids. This event is free.
- On Easter Sunday, March 31, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Fraternal Order of Eagles is hosting an all-you-can eat Easter brunch for $13 at 1735 11th St. NW, Cedar Rapids. Fraternal Order of Eagles is a nonprofit organization that raises money for charities.
Ely
- A free Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 23, behind the Ely Community Center, 1570 Rowley St., Ely. In attendance will be The Easter bunny, sponsored by the Ely Public Library, will be there for photos. Attendees are asked to bring a bag or bucket to collect their eggs.
Coralville
- Breakfast with the Bunny is being hosted by the Hyatt Regency, 300 E. Ninth St., Coralville, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 30. The event is family friendly and costs $34 adults and those 13 and up; $19 kids 9 to 12; $12 for kids 4 to 8; $5 kids 3 and under. Kids can enjoy various activities, including a bounce house and photos with the Easter bunny during breakfast. The Easter Egg Hunt will kick off at 11 a.m. in waves based on age. North Liberty
- The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is hosting Easter Fest 2024 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30 at Colony Acres, 1150 Front St. NE, North Liberty. This event is free. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt, crafts, food trucks and more. To register, visit goodshepherdcorridor.org/easterfest. Easter Fest continues Sunday, March 30, at 11 a.m. with a family-friendly Easter worship service with a children’s message, beautiful music, a fun gift and a continental breakfast.
