Help with prairie survey, invasive species removal at Blackhawk Wildlife Area in Jackson County
Aug. 31, 2021 1:00 pm
Late summer and early fall is beautiful season in the prairie. Come learn and participate in Jackson County Conservation’s remnant hill prairie survey.
Join naturalist Tony Vorwald at 10 a.m. Friday to help document and learn about the native prairie plants found at Blackhawk Wildlife Area, 138th Ave., Maquoketa. Volunteers will help examine the remnant prairie in order to better preserve and restore this rare piece of Iowa’s natural heritage. Once the survey is done, work will focus on invasive species removal.
Come for the survey, the invasive species removal, or both. Meet at the Blackhawk Wildlife Area parking lot. For registration or questions please contact Tony Vorwald at tony@jacksonccb.com
