Fontana Herb Society hosts upcoming honeybee program, plant sale events
HAZLETON — The Fontana Herb Society will host two upcoming events at Fontana Park, 1883 125th St. in Hazleton.
On April 7, the society will have a program by Mark and Abby Rippe, owners of Blueridge Orchard in Denver, Iowa. They have around 150 apple trees, along with 40,000 honeybees in the hives on their property. The program is an introduction to the stewardship of honeybees as seen through the lens of the four seasons.
On May 7 from 8 to 11 a.m., the society will conduct its annual plant sale, with some of the proceeds going to Friends of Fontana Park.
