MARION — St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 8300 C Ave. in Marion, will host “The Living Story,” a free drive-thru live Nativity, this Thursday through Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the St. Mark’s parking lot. This free event is a gift to the community and all are welcome to attend. For more information, visit stmarkscr.org/livingstory
The Living Story will feature multiple scenes and more than 100 volunteers from the St. Mark’s congregation each night. Attendees will stay in their vehicles during the experience and drive around the St. Mark’s parking lot to hear a narration of the Nativity story, told from the unique perspective of his father, Joseph. Vehicles should enter the parking lot from E. Robins Road.
This is the second year for St. Mark’s to host The Living Story. Last December, their first live Nativity brought more than 1,000 cars and 4,000 people to the St. Mark’s parking lot in three nights.
“Living Story is our gift to the community! We hope this event will bring the spirit of hope, peace and joy to all,” said Senior Pastor Paul Hennings. “We’ve made this year’s event even better than last year with hundreds of lights, live animals, an all-star cast, and a 10-foot tall star high in the sky. Don’t miss out on this awesome family-friendly experience from the comfort of your own car.”
The goal for The Living Story is to provide the community with a safe way to celebrate Christmas. All are welcome to attend. This is a free event; any monetary donations will be directed to The Churches of Marion Food Pantry.
