Celebrate U.N. Day on Oct. 24 in Linn County

The Linn County Chapter of the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) will hold a celebration of United Nations Day. U.N. Day is Oct. 24, the date in 1945 when the treaty forming the United Nations was ratified by enough countries. The 75th anniversary occurred in 2020 but no celebration was held because of the pandemic.
Join the Linn County Chapter for a celebration at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center. Entertainment by the Deep Dish Divas starts at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6 p.m. At 7 p.m. a proclamation from the mayor’s office will be read, Todd Dorman will be named the honorary chair and Mike Kuntz, utilities environmental manager for Cedar Rapids, will speak about “Sustainability and Cedar Rapids Water.”
The dinner will be herb-roasted pork loin or caprese pasta. Please indicate which entree you would prefer.
Reservations can be made by sending a check for $25 payable to Linn Co UNA-USA in the mail to P.O. Box 725, Cedar Rapids, IA 52406. Alternatively, send your reservation by email to linncouna@gmail.com. Send payment by PayPal to the same email address.
