CEDAR RAPIDS — The 2021 official City of Cedar Rapids Christmas tree will be cut, transported, set and strung with lights on Monday. The tree is being donated by the Mylhousen family, 247 28th Ave. SW.
The tree cutting will take place at about 7:30 a.m., and the tree will arrive at Greene Square between 8 and 9 a.m. The tree setup and decoration is expected to be complete around 10:30 a.m.
The tree lighting ceremony and family activities will be held at Greene Square on Saturday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Lights on the tree will be turned on at 5:30 p.m.
A Coonrod Wrecker Service crane moves the city of Cedar Rapids Christmas tree into position at Greene Square in Cedar Rapids in 2018. This year’s city Christmas tree arrives Monday morning. (The Gazette)
