Camp Courageous Manchester Garage Sale announces expanded summer hours
May. 18, 2021 11:01 am
The Camp Courageous Manchester Garage Sale, one of the Camp's largest fundraisers located in its new building at 1121 E. Main St. in Manchester, is announcing expanded hours for this summer. Connie Norby generously donated this building that was previously a Norby’s Farm and Fleet store a couple years ago. Norby’s has moved to a new facility on the west side of Manchester.
The hours of the sale are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. All proceeds from the sale benefit Camp Courageous.
A wide variety of items will be available for purchase — clothing, furniture, home decor, antiques, kitchenware, knickknacks, and more. Merchandise is constantly changing as new items are donated.
The Manchester Garage Sale has grown from being a small sale to one of Camp Courageous’ largest fundraisers. Not only has the sale raised funds for Camp Courageous, but it also has allowed the camp to obtain needed items. The sale is run by nearly 100 volunteers and led by a committee. The success of the Manchester Garage Sale can be attributed to these individuals who volunteer year-round for the fundraiser.
Donations currently are being accepted. For more information, call (563) 927-2120 or visit www.campcourageous.org/manchester-garage-sale. New this year is that the Manchester Garage Sale is accepting credit cards.
Camp Courageous is a year-round recreational and respite care facility for individuals with special needs. The camp operates on donations without government assistance, formal sponsorship, or paid fundraisers. On an annual basis, Camp Courageous traditionally serves nearly 10,000 individuals with special needs.
Camp Courageous is located at 12007 190th St., Monticello, Iowa.
